It was a nice day for a drive through the back roads of Pennsylvania into Delaware to deliver my first build. Everyone was all smiles and despite a little bit of rain, we got a test run of the TMT in the parking lot of the children’s hospital. Second chair delivery is tentatively later this evening.
wow look at those smiles!
Great pictures and great looking chair with an even greater looking child in it smiling!
amazing!!!
We need to release a simple fitting guide to help everyone fit these a little bit better. The main thing is the waist strap needs to be as tight as possbile, and footrest adjusted to the knees are at a 90 degree angle!
I am jsut learning more about this as well, and some simple tips go a long way. We will get it integrated into the platform and maybe a handout we can send with the makers/families
I do walk the families through how to adjust the straps in detail. They gave me anxiety before I figured them out, so I don’t want the families to deal with that. We were just really being rushed by the on and off again down pour of rain. The foot straps were set pretty long, the slack fell under the footrest. I also instruct them how to adjust the footrest height and all the other fun parts on the handle/headrest. I’m going to stay in contact with the first two families, as one of the first questions I got was about the slots for accessories. So I will be printing some one I get the print time.
I will say a good video with the strap and buckle setup would be great. The video that is up there now, there is a couple parts where you can not see what his hands are actually doing. Need someone with model hands to do some close up shots. Something not just for the makers, but a reference for the families. I can describe it the best I can, but they may forget by the time they need to make adjustments. Just my thoughts…

You all are so good at putting videos together, some instructional videos for clinicians, families and us Makers would be fabulous.
@madebyrice Keep up the good work on reddit, fighting the good fight in the comment section!
its in the works! We need to do a ‘how to fit a child in a TMT’ video for sure
With Silkk the Shocker, or Afroman!
