Something to share with you all

I wanted to share a story that really highlights the incredible work we’re doing.

My daughter works at a children’s hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and she was home visiting this weekend. I had just finished putting together my second chair (minus the straps), so she got to see it in person. The moment she saw it, she became very emotional and started to cry. She said this is truly life-changing for families, and that many people don’t realize how many parents either can’t afford a chair or are constantly battling with insurance to prove their child needs one.

She shared that there are so many children who could benefit from these, and that what we’re doing genuinely matters.

I sent her back with a flyer to share with families at the hospital, but honestly, just seeing her reaction to the chair and the impact it can have moved me to tears as well.

She also mentioned that her coworkers are talking about this, which just shows how meaningful this work truly is.

You are all absolutely amazing and are making a difference with these families!

Thank you for sharing. This project is a big deal. Y’all are doing an amazing job! Please have your daughter sign up the hospital as a partner and request some builds!

I am sure she has seen hundreds of kids that could benefit, and probably many of them were denied by insurance. These denials are one of the main reasons the TMT was invented in the first place. Literally everyday in the MakeGood social media inbox there is another family with the same experience, insurance denied, no options.

What we are practicing here is radial self reliance (and community reliance) through 3D design and 3D printing. I am realizing (through y’all) how powerful of a force this is. We are showing the world, that with good design and creativity, we can take care of eachother and our communities. We can skip the insurance and commercial system, and truly provide for eachother on a person to person level.

Everyone on this forum is a hero, in every sense of the word. Y’all are beyond inspiring and I can’t thank this community enough for embracing this project.
