TPU printing: machine setups

Good chance that’s the difference

Print the back cushion without the holes. Check with the family and see if they will be needed but the normal setup doesn’t use them and the back prints way better without them.

Is that an existing and approved file?

There is a thread here talking about it where I got it from. It was on the Google Drive, its just a cushion so not really a structural piece either.

I removed the holes in Fusion 360. I would also use 5 bottom layers. It keeps the overhang walls on the filet from separating.

Yes I have printed @Little_Charlie back cushion a few times. Mostly this is me just wanting to be able to print the original file and have it look good lol. More of a personal vendetta

@TDK1013 You Sir are an Animal!!! Do you have like a dozen printers at work or What?

This is why I’ll never do more than 4 tread at a time… got a partial clog, did a cold pull and all good, but was getting ready to head home from work and got a notification, luckily the Mrs. was home and got it shut down since I was on the road. (I know I can stop it from the app, but was driving  )

I approved it

Only 9…and I haven’t printed anything besides TMTs in the past 2 months lol

Yeah you have me beat lol. Well I have that many printers, but only 6 that I actively use a lot. The others are just not consistent enough and its time to move them down the road lol. And I have had to break away and print CNC Machine parts a few times for orders. But those are what pays for all the filament for the 3DTMT’s so cant be mad about that lol. Got 2 more to build when I get home so far, and talked with another potential customer today. All while staring out the window…

That’s quite a view! And I hear you about consistent ones—7.5 of mine are consistent, and the rest have their good and bad days. I am planning on a maintenance day sometime this month)

Thanks! Heading from LA to MA. About a 3-4 week run depending on weather.

Yeah mine are all several years old and most custom built. They are just tired lol. Still tons of good parts for someone that wants to work on them and build them. I am past that point I think. I am more interested in what I can make with a 3d printer more than making them lol.

Are we using blue tape on the build plate for TPU still?

Not me, I just spray the build plate with hairspray (Suave Max Hold) and let it dry before printing, and the TPU peels off of it pretty easily.

Or glue stick but that’s more work

For TPU, I use Bambu glue on an engineering plate. It works well.

So I thought the 3mf file had all of the settings for everything, im over here printing TPU at the default .2 layer height speeds and feeds in bambu studio but clearly thats not good.

I’m going to set the machine to 50% speed and see if that helps with my TPU issue but is there a TPU profile out there anyone has shared for the X series printers that works well? 6 hours for one tire segment seems a bit long.

I have a few profiles that I have come up with that I don’t mind sharing if you want to give them a shot. I print my cushions on an Anycubic S1 which should get you in the ballpark. You would likely speed up the process. (I feel that your printer is superior). I have a profile for normal and highspeed TPU using Overature filament. Just shoot me your email if you are interested.

I think a lot of people are using a profile that is located on MakersWorld. Search the chat, it’s mentioned in there somewhere.
