JMcFly's First Build: #1627

Could be a difference in tolerance/shrinkage of whatever PETG you used.

But those joints do have a lot of areas with support material that can hide in the crevices for the joint parts. I just take extra time to clean and scrape those parts carefully so that the wheels go together more firmly.

I cleaned out support very well. They do come together with no gap. Its when I put the tires on and the lock pieces that they do this. It doesnt seem like its going to come apart.

now im going to have to calibrate for shrinkage I suppose

Are your tires segments extending just beyond the wheel halves edge? Maybe causing some pressure and pushing away from one another?

For me this is the issue. Didn’t happen on any of my first builds which is weird. I just ran a calibration on my TPU printer. I’m not worried about the wheels. They are solid and the gap is very small.

I dont think so, they look ok.

I ran into this when I used the half wheel designs. The small amount of gap that existed with the quarter wheels doesn’t exist with the half wheel design and I really needed to squish my tires when assembling. I’ve only done half wheel design once, so by no means a great sample size. Haha

Interesting observation.

I think for the second chair I’m working on I’ll do the 4 piece wheels and see
