As a member of this beautiful and supportive community, I’ve been thinking about ways we can continue to grow and reach more families who may be in need of our resource, the TMT. I’d love to hear your thoughts, where are some places we can spread the word? ( some ideas that came to my mind were; - Local Pediatric therapy offices (PT, OT, Speech) - Children’s doctor’s offices, - Local Libraries or community boards.
Maybe it’s leaving a flyer, sharing a post or possibly leaving a model TMT with them for future reference.
What has worked for you?? Where have you seen the biggest impact?
I left Flyers at my local pediatric PT office and then I sent them to the two children’s hospitals as well in my area.
I’m curious how we find more like minded Makers. Delaware Maryland peninsula has Zero Makers, but 5 TMT requests…
Not one Maker in all of Delaware.
How do we engage with the Makers that all ready went through the process of being Vetted? There are Makers all around me with zero builds. How do we help them get started? It would be great if there was a way to colorize the builder circle so you know they are in the process of a build.
My plan is to start reaching out via the Maker Dashboard “Nearby” it would also be great if number of builds showed up there so you knew who is active or not.
Yeah I noticed that. I’m north east of Baltimore (Patrick on the map), about 45 minutes from Delaware, so I plan to start claiming some of the builds in Delaware once I finish the builds close to me.
But you’re right, there are very few makers in this area, despite being a stone’s throw from DC. Another joined recently close to me, but before that, I was the only one. I’ve shared this project with friends who 3D print and on the Voron Discord. But it would be nice to get some more makers working on builds.
I’ve been sharing it with members on the V1E Forum as well. Hoping some of those will jump over and become makers.
If I wanted to look up PT or similar places in our local area that are for kiddos that need a 3DTMT, what should I be looking for. I don’t want to show up to every Physical therapy place for “Marge’s knee pain”. I want to make sure I am finding the right places around where hopefully we can get the word out more.
I have been sharing the word through my Facebook, as well as my new Facebook page Renewability Creations where I am working on a number of different projects. I have a special needs child as well so I have been sharing this information with therapists and care providers he is connected with this has allowed for new connections as well.
Another place to connect would be makerspaces in your areas and or Maker Faires.
