Testing our new Maker Matching platform

Hey Everyone

We are working through a new maker-fmaily matching website, and I would love your feedback.

Please check out the new site at https://3d-mobility.org/

Note that this is still in development, and all data will be erased when we go live in a few weeks.

I am looking for your feedback! LMK your thoughts

thanks

I’m excited about this platform! I’ll definitely check it out.

Love the website! I went through the process of filling out the Maker application and didn’t encounter any issues. I love how much information is provided there, it’s a really great one stop shop. The build status is really cool. It’s fun how you can change your color theme which I assume is also an accessibility feature!

Resources on the Makers page may be helpful, so that we could quickly get to the links to the Google Drive for the TMT guide PDF and/or to MakeGood’s MakerWorld (and other partners’ files if they are available, as a resource for printing all kinds of adaptive devices if we know someone who could use it).

I see requests there now. If I accept a request, what would happen when the website’s data is erased?

I got the email yesterday for this and resubmitted all my stuff. This morning I was already approved. Being able to see the request within 250 miles was great. I already accepted the one closest to me and ordered the needed filament for the requested color. I found another that was close to where I work in Louisiana that wanted all kinds of colors. The first chair I made I just used whatever filament I had so its wild and crazy. So I also accepted that one and will deliver when I head to work later this week!

Where did you find the colors that were requested?

I didnt see it when I accepeted the job. But the email I got after I accepeted it showed the color.

@MakeGood_Noam if possible it would be nice to see that before taking the job on.

great feedback. I will add color visibility to the request card.

Hello, I have a general question. I received an email to print the toaster and a long strap which I did. But now we got invited to this new website and the test print has changed. Do I need to start over with the new prints?

Good question. Your old test prints are totally fine. We are accepting those to qualify you!

I matched with someone and they messaged saying they started printing their own and was trying to get the request removed. Is there some way we can do that in the tool?

@MakeGood_Noam ,

Thank you for your previous reply. I do have one more question. Previously, in the original email, if we wanted to work with a friend, we were both supposed to submit our sample pictures. However, I don’t see with this new website a way to connect with a friend and be on a team.

we dont have ‘partners’ set up quite yet for makers. Its kinda designed for individuals or organizations. Obviously both of you can work together. If one of you submits the build through the platform, and the other as a ‘community’ build - i will give both yall credit

you can ‘unclaim’ the build. as far as remvoing requests we dont have that functionality. It might make sense it add it- please tell me the request #

How do you change the status from claimed to printing?

In the Maker Dashboard under My Builds you will see the builds you have going. On the right of that particular build you should see a button that says “Mark as Printing”. After you click that the button will change to “Mark as Assembling”

In the example below I have already marked it as printing, so my button has changed to Mark as Assembling.

@MakeGood_Noam Would it be possible to allow makers to see the photos they have uploaded after the fact? Earlier today I went to upload some and of the ones I have I couldn’t remember for sure which ones I had already uploaded and which still needed to be uploaded. Wow I hope that made some kind of sense

Ok I’ll keep it claimed so nobody else grabs it, I was able to have 2 claimed. Request #1059.

Also when you click a link in an email it takes you to a different web address instead of the man domain. But it still works.
