I’m looking for general slicer settings for a non-Bambu printer/slicer. Using SuperSlicer, I can import the pre-sliced files from MakerWorld. When I do, I see when settings modifiers are applied. As an example, I see most of the pins and buckles have high perimeter counts to basically print solid. But for items that don’t have a modifier, where it uses the defaults, I can’t see those. SuperSlicer uses my defaults (40% infill, 4 perimeters, 5 top/bottom layers).
Try Chat GPT—ask it to create a profile (things you would like to achieve) for (filament type) for (slicer) for (printer model). Than upload pictures of all the parameters (filament, speed, quality, etc) It will tell you exactly what to adjust, and will provide brief explanation why these changes matter. I did this for all of my printers with great results.
Thanks. To confirm, I don’t need a PETG profile or help tuning one. I have several that I’ve tuned for various brands and colors. I need to know what infill, perimeter, and top/bottom layer settings to use for structural integrity of the chair.
I would chime in, but there are many more here that have more expertise. I’d wait for them. What I do know is the standard is 2 wall loops (but some have set this as three) 15% infill gyroid pattern. OK I guess I chimed in, and Welcome
Thanks, appreciate it. Yeah 2 walls seems a little light. I typically do 4 walls, 40% infill for other functional parts. But for a print this size filament usage is probably the limiting factor. And if that’s the standard it must be sufficient.
Yes sir I did. I also changed the global support settings a little. My support cleaner (aka wife) says they come off MUCH easier now lol. Here is a screen shot of those changes…
I downloaded Bambu Studio and installed it to see what the defaults are. Looks like the comments above were pretty much spot on. Default print settings as of this post are:
