It’s not a problem, but investment in future efficiency

I love it!

Another layer shift. I don’t understand what the issue is. It’s again at the same area. This is very upsetting. I cleaned the rods, tensioned the belts, cleaned and greased the lead screws.

I resliced the plate but didn’t move the piece. I might rotate it 90° and see what happens but it takes like 10 hours to find out

I wonder if it’s because the part is so large the print head hits its end of bounds and can’t figure out what to do and it just shifts over a mm.

I need an H2S or something

Did you try just printing a tower to see if it shifts at the same place?

I have printed all of these parts on my A1’s and the X2D which is the same volume as a P1/2S so its not that the part is too big. Makes no sense why you are getting that layer shift like that. Can I send you a .3MF to try and see if it works for you? if so what size nozzle are you printing with?

Check your filament path or for anything that can cause a spool to get stuck: I had this happen on my Core One where there was a slight kink in the PTFE tube where the filament was rubbing. It would be fine at slower speeds, but at random times when printer would accelerate this friction translated into sudden tension on the toolhead that caused layer shift. it would print fine after this tension was overcome.

Which printer? My memory sucks :man_facepalming:

OK hopefully its one of these…

X1C is what I have

Well good deal! That one is in there lol. Hopefully it helps! You should be able to just open the one marked X1C, slice and print

I hope you find it. I know the frustration. The fact that it appears in the same area of the print leads me to believe that it’s mechanical or an error in the file… you’ll get it figured out, no doubt.

I think it’s mechanical

That’s the problem spot. The hot end is hitting the edge of the enclosure and probably that’s why it happens once it gets to this height. I’m going to try the file from @NWCC

The piece does have a few MM of wiggle room to the right so we shall see

I just centered it on the plate. The craziness the X1C does on the front of the plate at print start takes up a lot of room lol. But I would move it to the edge as far as you can and it still slice before you print it.

had to ask for access

Shouldn’t have had to for download, but I did give it as soon as I saw the email.

you must have some good internet on that boat.

side note I did download the latest files and the right wing I think it is, make good logo, is ever so slightly over the build plate. @MakeGood_Noam. Moving it back 1mm made the slicer not complain.

Good ole starlink. Using my personal one right now. But starting tomorrow we will be out beyond 12 miles for a few days so it wont work, and I’m not paying that high price for ocean. So ill be back to the boat starlink that is metered and slower. But good thing is I can do the forum and 3d-mobility site from my work computer. Just cant mess with any files or anything.
