JMcFly's First Build: #1627

Success! Thanks @NWCC not sure what was different but I’ll save this for the next one.

Me either but I’m glad it worked for you!

I suspect it was moved over just enough. From what I could compare to my file and yours.

I suspect this TMT will be 90% purple with the wheel centers and handle being magenta. They requested purple but I said if some contrasting colors would be ok and they were cool with it.

I’m hoping someone comes up with a color layout tool that helps estimate filament needed. I’m not very creative so planning color layouts isn’t something I grasp.

This is the color planning tool in development, you can ask to be added to the Beta test. It works great and very helpful. @Cheese3dPrints He is the one to ask.

I use tomsplanner to figure out what I’m printing when and I have sliced all my times.

thats pretty cool. I’ll wait for the full release

The color planning tool is awesome! I’m using it for my current build. It helped a family decide which direction to take for the development of their chair. They wanted a specific character but wanted the chair to be bright. The combo for the two didn’t match. Having the ability to show them the color schemes made their decision much easier… I think many here will enjoy it when released.

We are testing this integrated into the request process now. The family will be able to go in and pick what they want, and the maker will be able to make changes and send it back to them. That way everyone can stay on the same page!

Seat bottom middle is printing now. Was curious how far along I was.

Make sure you put the foot rest in before you put that seat bottom in. Made that mistake on my first one and had to print another wing :man_facepalming:

There is definite separation between the support to the bottom of the print. Looks like shrinkage. This is causing the the top of the print to lift higher as it goes along. Then the nozzel hits it.

How the temperature of the enclosure? Are you printing with the door and lid closed?

Temps were all within safe PETG parameters.

I believe the lent was too close to the edge and the machine couldn’t figure it out.

It’s all dry fit. I need to clean bed adhesive off some parts. Now with the pink plate I don’t have to use glue.

I figured that, but wanted to make sure incase I was wrong

At least this will be hidden. I didn’t paint any supports on. Best course of action is buy an X2D of course.

Started on the TPU today. I’m not sure how it’s going. One wheel segment at a time until I have it figured out.

Printing directly from the filament dryer through PTFE tube to the hot end.

I’m not sure if that’s a good outlet for the filament. What’s everyone else’s setup on the Bambu p or x series.

I do this and it comes out perfect! When I do it without drying during print I see lots of stringing

I just remember reading that TPU has to have as smooth of a path as possible to feed without issue

I’m concerned about the kind of bubbles look some layers are getting. Could that be from a filament feeding issue ?

Could be. You want TPU to be as short of a distance as possible to the extruder as direct as it can be
