JMcFly's First Build: #1627

I’ve posted this before, but this is what works for me. TPU in a dry box with 608 bearings. Rolls smooth. I don’t use the tubing, I can only imagine it would create more drag.

Pretty hard to do with the X1C

I need to get that TPU assist module

The dryer has bearings for it to ride on so it does roll easily.

Yeah I am waiting for it as well. But you should be able to remove the top glass and feed in from the top straight to the extruder. Probably not the easiest thing to do but it should help.

Need to figure out how to set that up since I don’t have a shelf above the printer. I can probably print something.

But I also decided to yolo and blow my fun money budget for the week on the TPU assist. Was putting that towards an X2D. Need to sell off some of my junk

@NWCC are you using the default TPU profile that came with the 3MF file? Not sure if I need to slow down print speeds or not

Its available?? Last I looked it wouldn’t be available till the 27th or something like that.

Yeah I use the Bambu TPU 95a or 95a HF depending on the filament I have on hand. Anymore I spend the extra for HF because its like 4 times faster lol

Glad you said something. I got mine ordered as well. Too bad I’ve got another 2 weeks ish before I get home :man_facepalming:

I had no idea it wasn’t released yet but it took my money.

Yeah when I originally found it, it said May, 7th. Then on the 7th it said May 27th lol. I even signed up for the email notification when it was available, but never got the email

It tore In sections where it had bubbles and stuck to the plate that I had glued. :frowning:

Yeah that was areas of under extrusion.

I adjusted the spool so it comes off from the top instead of under. If that doesn’t do it then tomorrow I’ll have to figure something out. Maybe print the parts for the tpu assist.

Thankfully this family doesn’t seem to be in a rush nor terribly responsive…yay?

Aaaand it failed again after 10 layers. Dang, TPU. Is finicky on this machine. Almost want to get an A1 just for TPU printing

You are having problems on a p1s? I had such problems printing tpu until I started leaving my door open. Then magically all my problems went away. Have the roll in a dryer box right next to my p1s.

I have X1Cs and at first was struggling with TPU from my dryer. I changed and am printing from a cereal box, I set sideways on the spool holder, the tire parts finish in the morning so I can fully check but there have been no complications like I was having:crossed_fingers:t3:

I can’t find my spool holder for the X1C. I suspect I threw it out.

I suspect the A1 might be better as a TPU printer. I could be wrong.

The X1C said to do a cold pull before printing TPU, I probably should have also done that…

TeqStone Purple TPU? That’s what I’m using currently. :+1:

It’s geetec translucent

FWIW I print all my TPU with one of my A1’s and it does great. I found a bearing spool holder on maker world that attaches on the stock spool holder and that has worked out perfect for me.
