We recommend Bambu printers. They are easy to use, and every printer in the Bambu line (with the exception of the A1 mini) can easily print all parts of the 3D TMT.
That being said, any printer with the appropriately sized build plate should be capable of of producing the parts.
You will also need 10 spools of PETG and 3 spools of 95A TPU.
For more advanced users, we recommend using TPU AIR (aka Foaming TPU) for the cushions. See the Bambu MakerWorld page for more info.
Dry your filament, use a build plate adhesive, and be patient. It is a lot of printing!
Thanks for the answer.
Seriously Noam, this project is just AMAZING. You (and all people behind the scene) are now on my list of my favorites superhumans!
Question: How do you get to such a low manufacturing cost of 100-115$ if a spool is about 35$ (cookieCad) and we need like 13 of them? Itās more like 500$ . If you order it from you guys itās completly free ?
Does it mean that the TMT is going to weigh like 10kg or so?
So yes the request form is free, but it may take some time. I encourage you to make it yourself. Cookiecad is relatively expensive, you are paying for the great colors.
There are plenty of vendors on amazon selling PETG for around $10-12$ per KG. Try to show around as much as possible to save on filament. Hope this helps!
I say budget for 10 KG, even though the PETG parts are only around 8KG, because a part may fail and need to be reprinted
I am Middle School STEM teacher with a classroom full of kids excited about this idea. WE have two flashforge 5mPRO printers in our class and were wondering if anyone had the files cut to fit the 235mmx235mm bed size on that machine?
Hi Noam, Itās Sherry from Ontario. Iām excited to get started. Iām going to print the toddler trainer in Red with Black wheels, to associate the chair with Easter Seals Canada - Red Shirt Day last wednesday every May during National Access Ability Week.
Fingers crossed, Bambu Lab will restock the Red PETG HF tomorrow as the website suggested. Iām going to sign up as a volunteer for your program. Iāll also connect with my local Childrenās Treatment Centre on Tuesday to connect with local families. .
Has anyone tried the PETG and TPU from schoolhousespools.com ? I would like to know how āfastā these filaments can be printed at. Are there any images of a TMT printed with the blue or purple filaments that are part of the $100.00 kit ?
Just a heads-up. āKitsā at Schoolhouse are still out, but overall with free ship for a dozen spools itās reasonable, assuming itāll print similar to Overture or Sunlu/BL (PETG). However, Iām only a few states away and theyāre showing a delivery date around march 4th, so yeah - not sure if this is their ānormalā speed, but itās not fast.
