Wheel design help please!

Hi all.

So, I’m going for a red / black / yellow theme. It’s for a Deadpool and Wolverine fan!

Any chance (if I purchase it) someone could add the below pic of Wolverine / Deadpool to the wheels, I just don’t know the best way / size / orientation. Also don’t know what’s the best color to make the background and tires?!

Using A1 and AMS Lite so can do only 4 colors. I’d probably do Deadpools browns in black. And also Wolverines blues in black to keep colors down.

I know it’s a massive ask so appreciate any help  thank you!

Should put this in the Custom Wheels category.

But I guarantee @Nonny or @NWCC will help

Thanks for the tag, I had not seen it. I’ll take a look and see what I can do!

That’s great thank you! There’s no rush at all . I appreciate the help. That pic has a watermark on it as I’ve not purchased it, so you need the full version?!

So, that design is a custom one being sold. I would hate for you to purchase it only to find out I can’t get a clean image to create it for use in the wheel. It’s also about 10 colors minimum! Are you set on that exact design, or just looking for something with both of the characters? I found round logos that would look good on a wheel and are only 4 colors. And, I found lots of images that I could make work. But not that exact image. And most images would be about 7 colors.

I also found clipart type images of each character, individually, that you could maybe put one on one wheel and one on the other wheel? I am not familiar with the characters, so I apologize if I’m suggesting something that ‘shouldn’t’ be done.

Wow you’ve done that quick! Thanks for those designs.

Ideally I was after a character, they’re actually very grown up characters really but people make those cute cartoon styles of them which I liked!

When you say it’s 10 colors do you think it would look wrong with just 4? I was thinking red black white for the red character. And yellow white black skin for the yellow character. Wouldn’t expect all the detail.

That said the half half faces you’ve done is pretty cool actually that’s growing on me!

I think I like the half half idea actually, but maybe with matching eyes, like this..

Would that be a relatively easy one for you? Could it be split down the middle vertically? A left and right hand side?

Also how does the hub cap bit work into it

Thanks for your time appreciate it!

This would be VERY easy!

And, split down the center, each piece is a 3 color print!

And, I can find a couple of the simple character looking designs to give you an idea. But even those, with both characters on the same wheel would be at least 5-6 colors. And you will still lose a lot of detail taking colors out.

Any thoughts on doing just the black outline. Left half of wheel red, right half yellow.

I can work it up to give you an idea of what I mean.

And since I have NO CLUE on these characters, I’m bouncing everything off my Marvel loving husband!

Maybe the half half face split is the way then! Let’s keep it simple!

I did consider the half half wheel with red and yellow. Didn’t love that idea as the rest of the TMT is mainly red and yellow wanted the wheels to stand out a bit and have some character Involvement.

I still love the ideas of some cartoon style character but if the color loss will make the details less, they might not look as good as I’m imagining!

Ah there you go Hubby will know all! To be honest, these aren’t characters 5 year olds should know about :joy:, but apparently it’s the favorite super heroes!

Again I’ve hardly started this TMT so please don’t rush if you have other stuff to do! This K you though appreciate it

Hi, I know you said you weren’t in a hurry, but I’ll forget all about it if I don’t keep going!

Thoughts on something like this? The outer black circle in the pic is showing what it would look like with black tires.

These are just quick mock ups I’m doing in my graphics program and can be changed. Nothing is sliced yet. But these are ‘simple’ enough to be able to slice. (it’s the super complex ones I steer clear of!)

Hey,

Wow, that is cool! I like it! I mean I feel I’d have to ask the mum as it’s quite realistic ha! Don’t wanna scare the kid.

That said I do like it, but I also really like the simple one in the last post. With the half red half yellow outer rim and eye in the middle. It’s really grown on me! I roughly stuck it on the wheel (the pic) and it looked great. I can’t pick now :joy:.

I think leaning simple though, the eyes one, not too full on.

Really appreciate your time and efforts thank you!

As long as you are happy with either one, I will slice them both and upload them.

I’ll let you know once they’re up!

Hey Nonny,

So unsure if it’s my bambu studio but when I open the file I can’t view the design clearly it kind of flickers, when I slice it, it seems to work but quick question, the red side looks good, but the yellow side, the eye is inverted? Or looks upside down or something, doesn’t match the red side?

Is it just my studio maybe? Any ideas, no rush as per last time!

Not your bambu. That is just how it looks when you merge a SVG in Bambu like that. Sucks.

Hi,

As far as the flickering, I think @NWCC explained it. Preview it and it should look correct.

And the eyes are actually different in that design (Wolverine Deadpool1). I can create another file with the eyes the same. I had just pulled an image I found online.

Give me a few and I’ll try and get the new one up.
