Thank you @JISherrer
That is 100% my feeling on it as well.

I have been personally pursued by Marvel in the past for using their ālikenessā in a product. Their IP team are definitely protective and adamant, however - this would begin with a cease & desist.
My $.02 - we just need to tread carefully and lightly. Lots of social media posting of the wheels featuring their characterās likeness may draw some legal scrutiny. Iām with you guys that, I would hope they would let this type of thing go, but protecting a trademark is part of owning one. If you do not defend it properly, you can lose it.
That said - Iām printing Spiderman wheels for a kid because I think it looks amazing and becomes more than just a medical/mobility device. Am I worried about being sued? No.
Will Make Good or one of us as individuals receive a C&D at some point? Highly likely.
But as it would be hard for them to claim any true ādamagesā due to the use of their IP, I donāt see if ever extending beyond a C&D unless it continues after they politely (and legally) request you to stop.
This is pretty basic, but easily swapped for any turtle you want! Also, minimal to line up and a solid center cap. All wins in my opinion. This wheel image shows the mock up of the ātireā to give a better idea. The other image just shows them in each color.
Unless youāre Disney and you threaten to sue a daycare because they painted their characters on the walls.
That looks great! Thanks!
This little boy doesnāt have a favorite turtle, but loves blue, so maybe Leonardo with the blue mask. Yep, I had to Google that.
On the drive!
when i saw a post on fb i was heck yeah, kids have something to help them, why it matters, im 64 was born with cereabal palsy , so id like to see this non profit grow, seems to be fairly new, and dont think the board or mr platt would want it shut down. a few comments were uncalled for , why
it would not look good for a non profit to call a news outlet and say we are using ip infringement stuff, and want to have a story about disney etc, as they want us to stop. i asked a question here , and gave advice, im not a lawyer either, as i do have some experience in the industry,
i ran the printing aspect at a printing company, we had to adhere , as in pay royalties, to use their logo etc. we did disney, nfl ,nba, college ,churches etc.
also in the printing dept of a newpaper.
the board can easily contact these people, ill even look into whom to contact if necessary or asked to, they may be cool with it.
have a great evening all
I was a lawyer for 44+ years (retired in 2022). I did not do copyright or trademark law. However, I do think it would be prudent to try to get permission to use any trademarked or copyrighted material. If they agree, we donāt have to worry. If they wonāt, then it might be prudent not to use their stuff unless and until they change their minds. Heck, if they are contacted and shown the good work this project is doing, they might even try to help sponsor the project.
Talking about hubcaps. I had my first challenge recently with slight gaps in the wheels. I went over all the parts, everything was clean. I actually think it was the TPU tires that were just ever so sticking out further than they should. Finally put it all together and they looked fine, pegs went in fine. No challenges until I put the hubcaps on. They were loose, they would stay in, but I was not happy with them.
Simple fix - scaled the X & Y axis up 102% and left Z alone. Now very snug. Just an FYI
V9 of the wheel designs page is out now. My clients love looking at all of them and deciding which one to use. It can be found on the Google drive with all the 3mf files.
How well do these print with a .6 nozzle? Is the print time dramatically increased opposed to single color?
@Nonny just adding post here as you suggested for that toile design ![]()
I do have up to 4 colors available, but what i was thinking was 2 colors of glow in the dark PETG, blue and white.
Question⦠Thereās a little girl who loves Danny go and Iām drawing blanks on colors and if thereās anything we could use for art on the wheels. Any help is appreciated
Glad you made it over! This is the design that was giving me Haunted Mansion vibes. Itās considered toile, but not sure if itās what you had in mind.
Iām going to have to do some research, Iāve never heard of Danny Go!
Iāll see what I can do.

Iāve been told by @NWCC that most print fine with a .6. Anything with fine lines and small detail you will want to use a .4.
I design and print all my wheel designs in .4. I donāt think it takes that much longer and I like the detail. But thatās my personal preference.
They can always be sliced for a .6.
As far as how much longer print time vs a single color wheel- that really depends. So many factors to consider. How many colors, how intricate of a design, do you have an AMS
I have an H2C and it does add time. But the finished product is usually so worth it!!
My kids love Danny Go! The bear head and Dannyās hat are iconic to the show.
