I’ll go look that up, thanks!

~$200 is definitely more doable for the amount requested. Are you sourcing from MCM and amazon for TPU and hardware? Or have you found a better priced source?

@mike93lx thanks! I found the website. 12 spool minimum now that I don’t need anything, lol. But will definitely be the place I go for the next chair materials.

The owner (Scott) is a good guy that’s doing a lot for this project, as well

There is also Numakers and if you go under rewards in the maker dashboard there is a discount code that makes it about the same as school house. They don’t have the 12 spool minimum order and their filament it great as well

It says the code isn’t valid?

Well that’s odd. I have ordered 20+ spools from them with no problems with the code. But its been a few weeks since my last order. And that exact color you are trying to order

I don’t see where it would matter, but its displayed in the rewards section as MakeGood instead of MAKEGOOD. But if I remember right when I used it, it changed it to all caps as well.

I would see if they have a contact section on the site and send them a message asking about it.

Yes, I copied and pasted but it changed to all caps. I tried typing it out also. I even went to the site through the link on the dashboard. :woman_shrugging:

Well that sucks. @MakeGood_Noam do you know if they changed the discount code to something else??

I’ve got 20 spools in my cart and the code works, perhaps there is a minimum.

That’s possible. Both times I ordered it was 10+ spools

Ordered (12) spools from NuMakers yesterday and it says that it will be delivered tomorrow! Got the $5 off per spool as well. I hope that you get the discount to work because it’s an insane price… and they have purple…lol

I just played around with it. At 6 spools the discount kicks in.

When you print with the NuMakers PETG watch the nozzle temp. Most of the Bambu PETG profiles like to print at 255 degrees and that made the prints look stringy and pitted in some areas. I found that if I dropped the temp to 240-245 it worked a lot better (NuMaker suggests a range of 220-250).

Also, set your bed temp to 80 (Bambu was setting it to 70). I found that my supports were popping off the build plate and messing up some of my prints EVEN THOUGH I was using 3D printing adhesive. Once I set the bed temp to 80 those issues vanished.

I also didn’t print with the high speed profile but I’m not sure if that made a difference at all.

For reference, I print with a P1S and H2C.

I have been printing the Numakers and School House at 255° on my Qidi Q2’s. But I am pushing them pretty hard at 20mm³ so that might make a little difference. I think the stock PETG-HF for bambu is around 16mm³. With the test I ran It didn’t start to show print issues until around 23-24mm³ but I don’t like running right on the edge lol. That is also printing with a .6mm nozzle.

Putting this idea out there for anyone who may need help with funding. I initially made one chair completely on my own. After that, a family member offered to support a second chair, which inspired me to start a GoFundMe. I shared it on Facebook and LinkedIn, set a goal of $600, and committed to making three chairs. I was able to reach that goal in about three days.

I encourage you to share this initiative with your network to help spread the word and gain support. I’ve included the link to my GoFundMe below in case you’d like to reference any of the wording.

It looks as if there are 5 or 6 others doing the same, one even has a goal for 11k! Must be cranking out the chairs on that one.

Your networks seem to have pulled through for you, as there is one that started in late February with zero donations. I’d be in a similar boat as I’m a social media ghost.

If funding could be centralized and dispersed as a TMT is proven ready, that’d be ideal.

I think that is the plan in the near future when the kits are ready. Then they will turn on the donation stuff on the main website. Also people will be able to donate for specific builds as well. Then all we as makers will be responsible for is the time/printers and anything extra we want to do like adding extra colors and stuff.
