Unhappy with color choices

And the blessings continue…

Nice job!

That is awesome! I was hopping in to say there is always someone else in need. I had a chair all ready to go and the family was non-responsive, even with the admins trying to get in touch with them. Once the admins said to give it to someone else, a little boy showed up on the map within a few miles of me asking for 1 of the 3 colors the chair had in it. I sent them a picture, and they were overjoyed. He was a foster placement that had just landed with this family and they were trying to get him into special needs preschool but he needed a mobility device to start going. They had no idea when or if they were going to be able to get him something, then within a few days the stars aligned for them. And I got to deliver it a few miles away instead of driving 120 miles!

Thats amazing, yes this 2nd family is much closer, very thankful and only been waiting a few days and the colors matched perfectly with what they were looking for…

I would just respond…audacity…and move on to another family. I just cannot believe the audacity people have complaining about something charitable. I have zero tolerance for it.

I think a lot of the “miscommunication” comes from the limited info that a lot of the familys put in the initial Request. I didn’t know that when they put in the Request that they had to choose between Blue & Purple. I’ve seen a few that give a lot of information as far as the childs needs and what they like as far as colors & “heroes”, but the majority tend to be almost nil of any real information for the Maker. Perhaps the “Request” side of the website should ask for more specifics as far as what they need, what they would like to see, etc? I know that the “3D colorizer” (or whatever it’s called) that allows the chairs colors to be customized is in the works. Hopefully this would help eliminate the majority of “I didn’t want these colors” issues that may come up.

I’m still in the “beginnings” of printing my first build, and have been sure to communicate back and forth with them about the colors, and they’re honestly more excited about having “A” chair rather than one in any specific colors or with anything special, like the Ms Rachel wheels (the wheels are going to be a surprise for them, actually).

I’m sure this is a disappointing turn to this build story, but this isn’t the end for this chair. The good news (and also bad news) about what we do is that there is absolutely going to be another family who needs this chair, and they are going to be thrilled to have it.

You should feel good about what you did. You built an amazing-looking chair, and it’s going to change someone’s life.
